CCRI Defeats Massasoit WBB in R21 Semifinals, 82-62
Despite a career-high 32-point effort from Nakedria Turner, the Massasoit women’s basketball team fell to top-seed CCRI 82-62 in the Region 21 Tournament Semifinals at Cullen Field House.
WARWICK, R.I. ---- Despite a career-high 32-point effort from Nakedria Turner, the Massasoit women's basketball team fell to top-seed CCRI 82-62 in the Region 21 Tournament Semifinals at Cullen Field House.
Massasoit played back and forth for the first quarter, until a late 9-2 spurt put CCRI up 23-14 after one stanza of action.
From there, CCRI built on it's early lead to own a 46-30 lead at intermission. The Knights only outscored Massasoit by four in the second half.
Turner's 32 points marked a career-high as she added seven rebounds and five steals to her stat line.
Tonaja Lester and Ky'Lah Evans each added 13 points. Evans also pulled down 12 boards for a double-double.
All five CCRI starters finished in double figures, led by Chloe Rayko's 19 points.
